If you’ve decided to move into a one-bedroom apartment, you may be ready to move on to the next phase of your life. Whether it is moving out from under your parents’ roof or downsizing after your family has had a messy breakup, a one-bedroom apartment can be appealing.
Even more enticing will be 1 bedroom furnished apartment in a city like Winnipeg. With a beautiful view of the skyline and many foods to be eaten, a city will be perfect for you to meet new people, forge new friends, and build a network as you look for your next dream job or opportunity.
If this is your first time moving to your chosen apartment from all those apartments for rent in Houston, you will need to figure out what to bring with you.
Here is our list of things that every one-bedroom apartment should have.
Internet Access
There used to be a time where we commuted to work and had to have face-to-face meetings. But with the invention of the internet, these aspects of work are beginning to look like a quaint thing from the past. Almost every single job is found by applying online, and there are now chat services that you must use to communicate with your colleagues if you work from home at a white-collar job, as more and more people are doing.
Computer
This goes together with internet access. While computers were at one point a luxury, now they are a necessity. Yes, it is true that tablets and smart phones may be used to access the internet, but the mobile versions of certain websites, especially jobs websites, may not be compatible for your device.
However, nearly every single website you will ever come across is compatible with a computer. They are also compatible with nearly every single operating system, past or present. If you are going to work form home or find a new job, a computer is a necessity.
Bed
This is so simple it can be overlooked. When you’re moving, make sure that you pack your bed. A one-bedroom apartment does not have a bed unless it is furnished. Unless you like sleeping on the hard floor or an inflatable mattress all the time, you will need to pack your bed.
Clothes
Another simple item that can be overlooked is clothing. No apartment, furnished or unfurnished, will come with clothing. You need to bring your own clothes. Fortunately, an armoire will usually not be required as nearly all apartments for rent in Dubai will come with build-in closets. Some of them even come with walk-in closets.
Television
While your landlord might provide cable television, you will usually have to pack your own television. A simple television that is compatible with a cable signal will work, though many choose to buy very large flat screen TVs.
I personally use a medium-sized flat-screen television in my bedroom. While many people put their television in the guest room, I put mine in the bedroom because I use the sound from it to fall asleep.
Wherever you choose to place your television, you should bring it if you enjoy watching television or movies.
Noise Canceller
If you are sensitive to outside noise, a noise canceller will help you get to bed. Putting the canceller on will drown out a lot of the sound from the outside as well as coming from your noisy neighbor’s room.
I have one which I only use in extreme situations, such as the neighbor blasting music, or construction going on in the area. If loud noise prevents you from getting to sleep, a noise canceller is a must for those sensitive to sound.
Conclusion
Whether you like a noisy apartment or a quiet one, there are certain necessities that every one-bedroom apartment should have. From beds to clothes to more optional things such as a noise canceller and a television, you need to think of almost everything when you move into your apartment.
