All parents, who are new to parenthood, or who have raised their kids know parenting is not easy. Parenting does not come with a manual or is not inherited or cannot be gained by reading books about parenting. Parenting is a natural instinct, feeling of responsibility and nurturing and it comes from the day you know your offspring is going to come into this beautiful world. It takes 9 months for a baby to be born and it also takes 9 months for a parent to emerge. With the growing baby inside its mother's womb, people grow as parents.
They make arrangements, take responsibility and analyse their situation before the baby comes into this world, because every parent wants the best for their offspring. They want their child to grow up into a kind, generous, warm and resilient human being so they keep on pushing their boundaries and limits to work hard to give their kid a stable, better life. Parenting is also a constant mental, emotional, social, spiritual and physical support to the kid.
Parenting is not only the biological relationship, now in our society we get to see many different types of parenting examples that were not common in our society and are now accepted with open arms and positive mindset, like surrogacy, adoption, single parenting, Foster parents. They did not biologically give birth to the child, but the feeling of parenthood that they embraced is biological. But, as in early 2020 an unexpected pandemic came and the whole world was in a standstill situation, parents, kids and the whole family were clumped inside a house.
Good Parenting
Good parenting is very essential for a kid and it affects its whole life including, social, emotional and mental well being. It enables a kid to have a stable and healthy childhood and adulthood as well. Good parenting is greatly reflected in the upbringing of the children, the manners and etiquettes the parents pass to their children shows how good their parenting is.
Parenting is not only raising a kid to be an adult, but it's making them understand the true values of life, ethics and generosity, to be kind and warm to everyone in this world. Good parenting can only be taken up and understood by parents gradually as they live their life, it is not present in everyone, but everyone can try to adopt the good parenting skills, like-
- Teaching them the true meaning of life and showing them the honest way of living their life.
- Making them understand how this world works and tell them that they can make this world a better place by their kindness, warmth and humbleness.
- Giving them their proper privacy and allowing them to have a personal life, but should also make them be aware of all the good and bad things and take necessary actions whenever needed.
- Be a good friend and listener to their kid, and understand their feelings and emotions so that they can talk to them about anything.
- Show them that they are always going to be there for their child in any crisis or situation without failing whenever their child needs their parents to be.
- Trust them with the decisions they make in personal or professional life, and give them advice about it when their kids need that.
- Make time for their kid, to talk to them and boost their self confidence and support them in their decisions.
